$3.3 MILLION DRUG BUST IN OKC

$3.3 MILLION DRUG BUST IN OKC:

OKLAHOMA CITY -

A woman is caught carrying millions of dollars of illegal drugs across the state. It all started when Oklahoma County officials pulled her over for driving erratically along I-35.

"Drug traffickers often come through Oklahoma City," said Tommie Johnson III, Oklahoma County Sheriff. "Just because of the corridor that's here between I-35 and I-40."

It happened on February 22nd, when an Oklahoma County deputy noticed the driver, 29-year-old Jamara Hendratta Hennings swerving. He then pulled her over.

"Hennings said her friends let her borrow the van to let her drive home because she didn't have enough money for a plane," said Johnson III. "The deputy asked to search the van after hearing the story and everything not lining up."

Look at all this fentanyl and crystal meth seized in a single traffic stop on I-35 in Oklahoma City. A task force of city police, sheriff’s deputies and the DA's Office stopped Jamara Hendratta Hennings for driving erratically. She said she was driving back home to Ohio after staying with friends in Arizona, but deputies say she didn’t know the friends’ names or where they lived. Hennings said the friends loaned her the van. Deputies say a drug K-9 got a hit on the van where they found:

—75,000 fentanyl pills worth $2.25 million

—23.5 pounds of crystal meth worth $1,035,000

—2.5 pounds of pre-cut cocaine worth $60,000

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that’s 100 times stronger than morphine and can kill you. Hennings was turned over to the United States Department of Homeland Security for federal charges.
